Budget Surplus Boosts State Law Enforcement Funding

Columbia lawmakers approved a surplus funded package that raises pay and adds personnel for law enforcement. Hurricanes forge sister church ties in Quimistan project

After Hurricane Mitch, Pastor René Jerezano of Agape Church in Quimistan, Honduras, built a sister church link with a South Africa Presbyterian group and a U.S. nonprofit, South Carolina Project Agape Foundation. Since 2003 the mission has funded 26 cement-block homes and grown with other congregations joining the relief trips.
