Man sought in throat slashing in New Ellenton incident

Gateway program brings arts enrichment back to students
On opening day Gateway resumed after a three year gap due to budget issues. A fifth grader at J D Lever Elementary School showed a three eyed Triops and discussed their biology. The program at South Aiken High School offers visual arts dance drama and music for grades 3 and up with focus on Asian art and culture. Drama teacher Antonio Scales leads students in theater basics and creative workshops while instructor Carla Kerrigan notes plans for shadow puppets origami and silk painting.
