A 36 year old Augusta man was found dead in his car along Morris Bottom Road near Highway 19 Wednesday morning. Officials say the death was from an apparent self inflicted gunshot, about 12 hours prior, and the case remains under investigation.
Dr. Frank Roberson former Aiken County associate superintendent and Marlboro County district leader is a finalist for Richmond County School District superintendent. He aims to return to the CSRA and to serve the community. Finalist decision set for August 10. Names include Jason Hill and Everett Kennedy with drug and cruelty charges, plus multiple cases of domestic violence, burglary, drug paraphernalia and probation violations. A Williston Road man reported a burglary when a vehicle backed to his home and theft of a television and electronics occurred while at work. At New Bridge Polo Club on New Bridge Road in Aiken a break in saw a pool house entry and theft of electronics. On Odom Street a detached garage entry led to food theft from a freezer, with prior similar incidents noted and torn screen observed. A lawn mower was stolen from the 2800 block of Pine Log Road in Warreville, left in the front yard.
