Derrick to Introduce Southeast Nuclear Waste Pact Bill
Rep. Butler Derrick plans to introduce the Southeast Interstate Low Level Radioactive Waste Management Compact bill in Congress next week. The measure seeks regional responsibility with a three year search for a disposal site and a 1991 operability target, with Barnwell as the first site but off limits by 1992.
