New trial granted for man in Zoloft case

A South Carolina judge ordered a new trial for Christopher Pittman, now 21, who blamed Zoloft for the murder of his grandparents and the arson of their Chester home. The 2005 conviction for two counts of murder could be revisited after defense errors and missed plea deal concerns were cited.

Grandparents sentenced in SC for abusing grandsons

Cheri Crawford and husband James Crawford in Chesterfield County pleaded guilty to three counts of unlawful neglect toward a child. The grandparents, who had cared for three grandsons after their father died, forced them to work outdoors, deprived them of meals, and confined the oldest boy in a tent or shed, with the child fed spoiled food and the 11-year-old using a shock collar to discipline his brother.
