Charles Peters Sr. of Aiken died July 4 2006 after a long life that included service in World War II and work with Graniteville Company. He leaves two daughters Beverly Gregg and Barbara Row both of Aiken two sons Charles W Peters Jr of Conyers and James R Peters Sr of Graniteville six grandchildren three great grandchildren two brothers J D Peters and Thomas Wilburn Peters. He was born in Lanett Alabama and lived in Aiken County 56 years a Auburn University textile engineering graduate a Marine veteran and member of St John United Methodist Church Graniteville local American Legion post and Graniteville Exchange Club. A memorial service will be held July 8 at 2 p.m. at St John United Methodist Church with three pastors officiating. Interment is private. The family will receive friends July 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 821 Rutledge Road Aiken and after the service at the Bessie Pearl Williams Building beside the church.
