Aiken Tech Faces Image Gap and Enrollment Slump
ATC president Dr. Blowers says enrollment has fallen below seven years ago levels from 828 to 720 full-time equivalent students, with fewer than 5 percent of last year's 1,200 local graduates choosing ATC. He cites an image issue as a hurdle toward broader status as a technical college and notes transfer agreements with four-year colleges. Plans include adding two two-year programs and a one-year certificate, contingent on county funding.
