Blackwater Iraq contract not renewed by State Department
The State Department will not renew Blackwater Worldwide’s contract to guard U.S. diplomats in Iraq as the Iraqi government denied Blackwater a license to operate. The May expiry follows outrage over the September 2007 Nisaur Square shooting that killed 17 Iraqi civilians. DynCorp and Triple Canopy may replace Blackwater if needed.
