Pope John Paul II to visit St Louis in 1996 invitation
Archbishop Justin Rigali, longtime Vatican official and close associate, extended a personal invitation to Pope John Paul II for a St. Louis visit. The pope’s two day stay will begin after a Mexico City synod report, with estimates of up to one million attendees expected for Mass at the Trans World Dome and ecumenical events planned.
