Shelton E. Wiles, 41, of Wilkes County, sought by federal authorities for 10 months on drug trafficking charges, was arrested at the High Meadows Inn in Roaring Gap Alleghany County. An informant tip aided the capture. Wiles was indicted in March 1984 for belonging to a drug ring smuggling marijuana and cocaine from Colombia. Six others named in the indictment.
