Desperate cat rescued after 80-foot fall in Aiken neighborhood
Local rescuers responded to a cat stuck high in a tree on Randolph Street near Palm Drive. Fire crews used a bucket truck and a pole saw to prune a limb, freeing a gray seven month old cat of six to eight pounds after hours aloft. The cat was checked by a vet and will stay with the Aiken County SPCA for a few days.

Winter advisory remains for northern South Carolina
Sleet and freezing rain fell across northern South Carolina prompting a winter weather advisory from Greenville to Myrtle Beach. Roads had minor problems as bridges and overpasses were treated in the Midlands.
