Stimulus contracts awarded at Savannah River Site

Savannah River Site awarded a 1.1 million dollar contract to Havard Oil Co. of Leesville for up to 460 800 gallons of low sulfur diesel fuel to support ARRA projects. Bierlein Field Services won a 2 million dollar contract to dismantle gantry cranes over P-Reactor and R-Reactor with Southway Crane assisting, aiming to finish by May next year and create up to seven jobs.

Recovery Act funds speed up F Tank Farm closures at SRS

DOE announces 1.4 million in ARRA funds to refurbish Tank 5 ventilation and replace a failed submersible pump at Savannah River Site. SRR will also upgrade Tank 13 hub capacity to move waste and accelerate closures by 2022, with a projected 27 million cost and 100 plus jobs created.
