Crash investigation continues after Charlotte area air crash

Reported from Charlotte to Greer, a US Airways Express plane crashed at a maintenance hangar with no ground injuries. NTSB has 25 agents surveying debris while FAA warns of prior directives on stabilizer bolts and elevator weight attachments. Families Aboard Flight 5481 Remembered by Friends and Victims

Grief counselor Major Stanley Melton met with families of three victims at the scene. Willis Group Holding chief executive Bilty Puckett mourned client and friend Gary Gezzer, killed in the crash en route from Fort Lauderdale to Greenville. Alexandria Abrams, 21, spoke of planned Seattle trip and the wish to be on board, expressing mixed feelings of luck and remorse.

Twenty one killed in US Airways Flight 5481 crash

The crash at Charlotte Douglas International Airport claimed 21 lives including captain Katie Leslie of Charlotte and first officer Jonathan Gibbs. Passengers from Bahama to India, Florida to Massachusetts, were among the deceased with officials listing names and ages such as Caitlin Albury 13, Nicholas Albury 21, Robin Albury 38, Ganeshram Sreenivasan 23, Mark Congdon 58, and Paul Stidham 46.
