Two Clemson Students Among Dead In Charlotte Plane Crash
GREER Two Clemson University students traveling to South Carolina were among 21 people killed when their commuter plane crashed into a maintenance hangar at Charlotte Douglas International Airport shortly after takeoff. Badam and Sreenivasan were graduate computer science students at Clemson since fall 2002 and were among 19 passengers and two crew aboard the Beech 1900 turboprop bound for Greenville Spartanburg International. University officials expressed shock and offered counseling as a memorial service was planned on campus. A Bob Jones University student was also reported aboard the doomed flight.
