Aiken County OKs 141388 Center Bid in North Augusta Belvedere Plan
Aiken County Council approved a 141 388 bid from Stewart Builders Inc for a 4 187 square foot brick veneer Public Community Services Center on the old Kirk School property U S 25. The center will house an ambulance service sheriff and magistrate office with no completion date announced.

Kneece Forest Products Sells 10 Acre Site and Assets
Owner Gene Kneece reports total liquidation of Kneece Forest Products on U.S. 78 east of Aiken. The 10 acre site and extensive inventory including saw mills, rolling equipment, and other real estate were auctioned December 15 to buyers from across the eastern seaboard. Help Inc and B H Mini Warehouses purchased parcels. Kneece also owns Aiken Lumber Company.

Job Injuries Illnesses Rise in South Carolina 1983
State officials say workers moving from textile to other manufacturing jobs increased job related injuries and illnesses in 1983. The rate rose to 7.8 per 100 workers from 6.4 in 1982, with 31 work related deaths in 1983 down from 37 in 1982.
