A hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. January 30 in Barnwell County Court house on a wrongful death suit filed by Steven Arthurs on behalf of Deborah Arthurs Munn. The case stems from a 1994 shooting by her estranged husband John Munn at her Gloverville home and alleges the Aiken County Sheriff's Office failed to respond to pleas. The trial is set for February 9 in Aiken County.
In a second suit Harrison claims Westinghouse and WSRC inflated and submitted false training subcontract costs. The judge dismissed the false claims count, ruling no evidence of deliberate fraud. overspending alone not enough for a false claim. Simons noted missing records to prove misrepresentation to the Department of Energy.
