King's Kitchen feeds needy with church help and food donations
Volunteers led by Myrt and Norm Egbert dish a warming meal at the King's Kitchen on winter nights. Rev. Ronald Gray of New Covenant Praise Church says 15 to 20 people attend nightly, with seven to eight regulars and others in need. Since opening a year ago, meals have totaled over 2,000, funded by donations and discounts from local partners like Golden Harvest Food Bank and Feaster's Meat Market. The program blends food aid with spiritual outreach, urging attendees to stay for a short service and consider life changes. Hours have been cut to Tuesday to Thursday 6-7 pm, with hopes to regain Monday and Friday nights.
