About 400 gathered at USC Aiken Etherredge Center as Tonya Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred M. Smith, was crowned Miss Aiken County 1989. First runner up was Candi Scott and second runner up Melanie Simmons. Miss Congeniality went to Beverly Martin. Michelle Donnarumma crowned the winner and will compete in Miss South Carolina 1989 in Greenville July 7 to 10. Earlier, Wee Miss through Teen Miss Aiken County winners were named: Courtney Kelly, Carole Cameron, Karah Cowart, and Alliyson McCaslin.
