The Augusta Chronicle reports a large Belvedere project on land bought by Benjamin H Marshall and Chicago associates. A five hundred room fireproof hotel named Hampton Terrace with golf courses and polo fields is planned, with construction to start in January 1926 and a contractor to be announced.

Mrs Caroline Durr Bradwell Dies at 76 in Aiken
Mrs Caroline Durr Bradwell widow of Lewis Bradwell died suddenly at her home Friday morning at about five o clock at age 76. Born in Quincy Florida she had lived in Aiken nearly 50 years and is survived by her husband three daughters a sister and a brother. Funeral services were held at the Bradwell residence on Richland Avenue with Rev John Eadie Henderson of the Presbyterian church officiating and burial followed at St Thaddeus Episcopal churchyard. Pallbearers listed include R L Gunter James F Byrnes W W Edgerton Chas Hill R G Tarrant and A K Lorenz.

Sixteen Lynchings Reported Nationwide in 1924
The Tuskegee Institute department reports sixteen lynchings in 1924, the lowest since records began. Nine victims were seized by the law, with five states showing multiple cases, including Florida with five and Missouri with two. All victims were Black, according to the year’s compilation.

Boisey Carter white of Langley was mortally wounded Thursday by Policeman John Kleckley. Carter had been feigning illness for days and was taken to Augusta hospital with no hope of recovery. Kleckley surrendered to Sheriff Howard after the incident.
