Federal judge rules Choose Life plates unconstitutional
A federal judge in Columbia ruled South Carolina anti abortion license plates violate the First Amendment. The court held the plates provide a forum for anti abortion proponents but not for abortion rights supporters. The ruling, likely to be appealed, may push the issue toward the U S Supreme Court. Planned Parenthood and others challenged the law signed by Governor Hodges in 2001.
