Death Dip crossing to be eliminated in SC highway project

The George Washington anniversary was celebrated at the Aiken Institute with a chapel service including a march to chapel, songs, scripture, a Mount Vernon association story, a Washington tribute, and a reading of the poem George Washington by James Edwin Kerr. Mrs. Chas. F. McQueen Dies in Augusta
Mrs. Chas. F. McQueen of North Augusta died Monday night at an infirmary in Augusta. Funeral services were held at St. Paul Episcopal Church and interment was in the Augusta cemetery. She is survived by her husband Charles F. McQueen, a daughter Alma Foster, and two sons Charles and Theus McQueen, all of North Augusta.

Two Poultry Short Courses led by Miss Juanita Neely of Winthrop college were held last week at Jackson and New Holland. A crowd of 36 attendees from Seigern, Kitchings Mill, Aiken and McLaurin heard talks on breeding, egg selection, setting hens, feeding, brooders and incubators. The speaker praised interest and urged farmers to raise poultry, noting South Carolina’s large poultry and egg shipments and urging every farm to keep at least 50 hens.
