Growth in Doctors Tied to New Aiken Hospital Opening
Ten years after the planned hospital expansion, Aiken County faced a medical doctor shortage. Previously 42 doctors were affiliated with the county hospital, including 14 general practitioners and 28 specialists across 15 fields. Now 85 doctors are affiliated with HCA Aiken Regional Medical Centers, with 20 general practitioners and 65 specialists in 24 fields.
