A feud between bride and groom families exploded at a Cherry Hill wedding reception sending one to a hospital and drawing 60 officers. Uncle of the bride started the melee and Michael Rappo was arrested for disorderly conduct and defiant trespassing.
Third Crockett family reunion heads to Texas to honor Davy Crockett at the Alamo as part of Texas 150th birthday celebrations. Organizer Jim Dumas of Pigeon Forge says the event links Tennessee and Texas and marks the death site of Crockett.
A dry forecast calls for a clear and cold night with temperatures in the lower 30s. Wednesday will be sunny and cool with highs in the mid 50s. Page 2B contains details.

Mary Anne Browder reports a decade after a new hospital opened, the number of doctors in Aiken County more than doubled from 37 in 1971 to over 80, with 24 specialties now served. The 1976 breakdown shows 28 specialists and 14 general practitioners, plus 85 doctors at HCA Aiken with 55 active staff and eight on the courtesy list.

Aiken officers caught a robbery suspect on Pendleton Street after a high speed chase that started in Augusta. The man, ident not released, may be the same person linked to a Western Sizzlin robbery last night. Georgia authorities planned to take custody while the suspect remained held as a suspect with no charges yet filed.
