South Carolina Braille Challenge Draws 120 in Columbia
The eighth annual South Carolina Regional Braille Challenge took place February 4 at the South Carolina Commission for the Blind in Columbia. About 120 students, parents, and teachers from across the state attended, with Aiken County Public Schools notably represented in the Rookie level by Bronson Baker, Gabriel Brown, and Sondra Kubas.

Evening lectures added to Aiken Museum series
The Friends of the Aiken County Historical Museum add two 7:30 p.m. lectures to the 2016 winter series, extending beyond daytime hours to reach working and younger residents. On Feb. 23 Owen Clary will discuss Aiken's Golden Age and The Big Four. on March 29 David Tavernier will present Stories of the Rich and Famous in Aiken’s Gilded Age and related works.
