Alabama counties move toward same sex marriages amid ruling
In Alabama, more than a dozen counties began issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples after U S District Judge Callie Granade struck down the state ban. By Friday midday at least 35 of 67 counties were complying with the order and Mobile County probate offices began issuing licenses. Local officials including Lee County Judge Bill English indicated the order clarified the process despite opposition from Chief Justice Roy Moore.
