Greenville AP reports the 1984 death rate for unrestrained child passengers fell slightly after the 1983 Child Passenger Restraint Law. Nine unrestrained child deaths occurred in 1984, matching 1983. total traffic accidents rose by 10,000 to 100,000, reducing the death rate.
Nick Colasanto known as Coach on Cheers died of a heart attack at his Hollywood home aged 61 after a two week hospital stay. The actor director had been nominated for Emmy and Tony awards and preferred directing to acting.
The forecast calls for continuing clearing skies and cold conditions. Tonight will be fair and cold with lows in the upper 20s. tomorrow’s high near 50 with partly sunny skies and 15 to 20 mph winds. Friday and Saturday see fair skies with lows in the 20s to 30s and highs in the 40s. Sunday warming into the 50s as clouds return.
