Aiken County Board reviews two school renovations

The board heard proposals from MartinBoal Anthony and Johnson Architects for Jefferson Elementary and Langley Bath Clearwater Middle Schools. Plans include updated entrances for security, replacing old window walls from the 50s, enclosed walkways at Jefferson, new canopied walkways at LBC, moving the media center, and reconfiguring spaces with a 4.7 million Jefferson project and a 4.67 million LBC project. Construction eyed for September 2000 with completion by November 2001 in phased renovations to minimize disruption.

ATC Instructors Complete Tech Internship at WSMS

Aiken Technical College instructors Dr. Edmund Boothe and Joseph Wojcicki completed a science and technology internship at Westinghouse Safety Management Solutions. The program allowed observation of ATC graduates and offered program improvements. WSMS donated 3400 dollars to the college at the internship’s end.
