Public meetings seek ideas for Together Aiken County plan
Today and over the next two days multiple Aiken County venues host public input sessions for the Together Aiken County strategic plan from 7 to 9 pm at Silver Bluff High School Oakwood Windsor Elementary and other locations.
Together Aiken County public ideas meeting planned
A public idea gathering for Together Aiken County will be at Aiken Technical College from 11 30 a m to 12 30 p m on Wednesday. Residents of Aiken County are invited to share input. The final two Together Aiken County meetings will be held tomorrow at two locations in Aiken. The Greater Aiken Chamber will hold Business After Hours sponsored by Hitchcock Healthcare from 5 30 to 7 30 p m RSVP by Wednesday. For more information call 803 641 1111.

Spurrier return and campus projects highlighted at Rotary
University of South Carolina president Dr Andrew Sorensen praised Steve Spurrier at the Rotary Club of Aiken noting their shared USC ties from Florida days. Sorensen touted an eco friendly residence hall with a grass roof and a push to consolidate USC and Medical College of Georgia pharmacy programs into the South Carolina College of Pharmacy led by Dr Joseph DiPiro.

Executives wash cars for Heart Walk fundraiser
AGY executives traded pens for sponges at the company car wash to benefit the American Heart Association. By 1 p.m. thirty cars had been washed as CEO Doug Mattscheck and other leaders participated alongside staff in the fundraising event. Proceeds from red ribbons and Valentine baskets also supported the cause, with baskets valued over one hundred dollars each.
