Controlled burn spreads to North Augusta home

A controlled burn escaped near North Augusta and consumed brush and damaged a 6,500 square foot Lakes and Streams subdivision home. Fire Chief Phil Napier said the fire spread into an interior wall and attic, rendering the Lake Murray Drive residence uninhabitable. Fire crews from multiple units tackled the blaze late Tuesday afternoon.
