A party of Southern Railway officials visited Aiken and announced a faster Augusta Special schedule. The southbound run from New York will depart 2 05 p m with arrival in Aiken at 12 30 p m and the northbound service from Aiken leaves 2 05 p m reaching New York by 12 30 p m the next day. Modern Pullman cars and a new ten section lounge car will be included.

Airplane Lands Here After Rumored Crash
An Alexander Eagle Rock biplane flying from Jacksonville to Spartanburg landed in a field by D. W. Gaston Jr.'s residence yesterday evening due to rain and darkness. Passengers R. C. Schrader of Denver and J. A. McDermid of Jacksonville stayed at the Aiken Inn. the craft was bound for Spartanburg to join the local Flying Club. Rumors of a wreck circulated but were proved groundless.

The club also announced donations totaling 35 dollars to civic and relief organizations.

Aiken Realty Company bought an entire block near the Aiken Preparatory School from Nelson Johnson for 6500 dollars. Henry Hall Tarrant sixteen year old high school student at the Aiken Institute and football team member died at about 11 30 Tuesday morning from double pneumonia after influenza. He was the son of Mr and Mrs R G Tarrant and a grandson of the late Capt H H Hall. Funeral at St Thaddeus Episcopal Church was held Wednesday with Rev Wm Johnson officiating. Saturday Night Fire Destroys Part of Chesterfield Street Home
Last Saturday night a fire at the Hendrix residence on Chesterfield Street caused substantial damage to the house and furnishings. Firefighters contained the flames from a chimney spark, and Mr. and Mrs. Hendrix and several boarders moved to the Green home for safety. The home was owned by Misses Hannah and Harriet Atkinson. The Warrenville Methodist Woman's Missionary Society met at Mrs. C. D. Kenney Sr. home with Ruth Andrews elected president.

Flags Return Home to South Carolina Relic Room
Five Confederate flags captured on Morris Island in the 1863 battle are returned from Maine to Governor Richards. The flags will be kept in the State Capitol Confederate relic room under custodianship of Mrs. Elizabeth Brown and Mrs. Claude H. Girareau. A damaged Pickens Rifles banner will be repaired by experts before display. The event followed support from Governor Brewster of Maine, who publicly advocated returning captured flags to their states.
