City turns former 14 acre site into north side park
The City of Aiken transformed the 14 acre Schofield Middle School site into a park now hosting 42 youth soccer teams. Officials say the project fills a gap in north side recreation with planned irrigation and lighting to enable night games. Neighborhood leaders praise the effort as a long term neighborhood improvement initiative.
