Gun discharge at Hornsby Elementary injures student
A third grade girl was grazed by a gunshot when a classmate brought a .380 pistol onto the Hornsby Elementary School campus in Augusta. The shooter was taken into custody and the injured student was treated and released from a local hospital. The incident is under investigation by the Richmond County Board of Education Police Department with help from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Granville woman arrested in breakage of grandmother’s home
A Graniteville woman Shaquanda Shantay Washington 23 was arrested Monday on malicious injury to real property after entering her grandmother’s Alfred Street home in Aiken damaging plants planters and a bedroom door while seeking her 8 year old son. An infant was with her and later turned over to Washington’s sister as custody papers could not be produced.
