A Lowcountry Civil War re-enactment may be held in Aiken County this fall after the plantation that hosted it canceled following the Charleston church shooting. Danny Francis of the Sons of Confederate Veterans offered land on Powell Pond Road to the Confederate Heritage Trust Inc. for the event. The property lies about five miles northwest of Aiken and also hosted the Battle of Aiken re-enactment. Francis called the gesture goodwill.
