Luckiest man alive escapes shotgun blast injury
Wagoner police chief Norman Courtney, calling himself the luckiest man alive, survived a close range shotgun attack during a domestic violence flare up. Fellow victim Travis Brooks was also shot. a standoff with suspect Wesley Corbitt ended with Corbitt surrendering. Courtney and Brooks were hospitalized in good and fair condition respectively.

Off duty deputy killed in motorcycle wreck
Aiken County deputy Derek Matthew Adamson 29 died in a motorcycle crash on Gray Mare Hollow Road Saturday night. He wore a helmet, was found at the scene, and had served with the sheriff's office since February on the midnight shift.
