Langley Pond dam upgrade progresses with spillway work
Langley Pond remains open for swimming and water sports in 2020 despite a minor timbers issue. The Langley Pond dam project began with a March 2018 groundbreaking, Crowder Construction Co. bidding 13.5 million and Schnabel Engineering overseeing design. A new labyrinth style spillway is being built to replace the old ogee crest spillway, with work staged and the pedestrian bridge sections delivered and stored at the former Bi Lo site near Langley Pond.
