Langley Pond dam renovation near Warrenville is delayed with a new completion estimate of end February 2020. Deputy County Administrator Brian Sanders cites weather and unforeseen issues plus discovery of 150 year old timbers in the old spillway as reasons for delays.
Aiken Technical College students explored campus groups during the annual Student Org Expo in the Student Activities Center. The EMS Association promoted EMS training and planned community outreach while Welding Society member Chelsea Parker discussed changing majors to welding and the sense of community within the group.
USC Aiken welcomed about 600 freshmen for the class of 2023 during a convocation and the traditional bridge crossing on the Pacer Pedestrian Bridge led by Kayla Hutto, Adam Kimsey, and campus leaders. Author Renee Watson spoke on themes from Piecing Me Together as students engage new academic challenges and campus life.
