Contractors May Earn Bonus for Early School Completion
Aiken County Board of Education deadlocked 4 4 on offering a bonus to contractors for finishing three new elementary schools early. Chairman Sally Bigger cast the deciding vote amid concerns about quality. The district holds back a portion of payment until the architect inspects and approves completion. The board also reviewed test results, approved a middle school schedule, raised milk prices, tightened attendance policy, and reorganized maintenance.
