Granite Memorials Mark Site Of Boys Drownings

Three weeks after Susan Smith was sentenced to life in prison for killing her sons, no granite markers were erected by the boat ramp where the car and boys entered John D. Long Lake. Community members hope the monuments will memorialize Michael and Alex and aid healing. Workers prepared heavy stone foundations as a small crowd gathered by the lake.
