Suit filed over insurance hikes for public workers
A USC chemistry professor led a class action in Richland County claiming the Budget and Control Board lacked authority to raise health insurance premiums for 234 000 public workers and retirees. The suit seeks to block the Jan 1 increases after lawmakers agreed to fully cover them.
