S.C. Supreme Court Won't Delay Friday Execution
The South Carolina Supreme Court unanimously refused to halt the execution of Richard Charles Johnson set for Friday for the Sept 1985 Trooper murder on Interstate 95. It rejected a last appeal citing possible DNA evidence questioning a key witness. The court noted Hess's testimony remained unreliable and evidence did not align with her confession.
