Wanted N A man dies in car crash on Highway 25

North Augusta man Michael Baskett 36, sought on a felony firearms warrant from Richmond County Georgia, died Tuesday when his stolen 1991 Toyota veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2003 Freightliner flatbed driven by Roosevelt A. Jones in Edgefield County South Carolina. The truck driver was injured and treated. No pursuit was in progress at the time.

Leaders to press Congress on CSRA concerns in D.C.

Forty seven area business leaders from South Carolina and Georgia will meet Congressional leaders in Washington this week during the CSRA Leadership Conference. They will back SRS MIS oxide fuel facility support and highlight Savannah River Site layoffs while outlining regional transport needs and Fort Gordon concerns. The trip, described as a working visit, runs from pre dawn Wednesday to late night Thursday with meetings alongside Rep. Joe Wilson Rep. Gresham Barrett Rep. Bob Inglis Rep. Jim Clyburn Sen.
