Post and Courier wins Pulitzer for domestic violence series
The Aiken Standard’s sister paper, the Charleston Post and Courier, earned the Public Service gold medal for the series Till Death Do Us Part. Reporters Pardue, Smith, Berry Hawes, and Hauff led the work, begun in 2013 after the Violence Policy Center flagged South Carolina’s high femicide rate. CIR aided with training, data, and funding.
