Tornadoes Suspected Across Aiken County Area
Severe weather caused downed trees and power outages across Aiken southside and neighboring counties Edgefield and Lexington. No deaths or injuries were reported by EMS as 15 roads were shut including Savannah Drive Glenwood Drive and River Bluff. NWS issued a 1 pm tornado warning. by 4 pm winds swept Pine Log Road Aiken Estates Hitchcock Parkway and Oriole Street. Residents describe a brief, intense event with large trees collapsing on homes and streets. Officials plan a storm survey Monday to distinguish between a small tornado and a straight line wind event.
