County tackles litter issue with new task force
Aiken County Council plans a 7 p.m. meeting at the Government Center to consider forming a five voting member litter task force with two staff recommended appointees. The panel would draft a marketing plan for an anti litter campaign, meet quarterly, and include four year terms. The item follows statewide Zero Tolerance for Litter month declared by Gov Nikki Haley. The council may mirror Berkeley County litter court practices and consider penalties and enforcement ideas. Midland Valley High School won the Class AAA state basketball title.
