Ann Chapman Named Girl of the Year at Beta Sigma Phi
Ann Chapman of 1125 Chatfield St was chosen Girl of the Year by the Aiken Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Secretary presiding Caro lyn Mitchell announced duties and events from last night's ceremonies at the Aiken Holiday Inn. Chapman, selected by secret ballot, has served as social committee chair and on program and yearbook committees and becomes incoming vice president. The ritual of Jewels degree was conferred on three pledges, and Exemplar degrees on ten members. Beta Sigma Phi International’s Exemplar Degree requires four years of ritual culture. The chapter observed the 41st Founders Day Dinner marking the 1931 Abilene origin of the sorority with about 10, 500 chapters and 225,000 members nationwide.
