Colored public school ready in Aiken with no equipment yet
A two story colored public school building in Aiken is nearly complete at about 20000 dollars with 25000 from the city bond issue and 7000 raised by local colored residents. Equipment costing around 3600 remains unfunded and Eliott Ball leads fund raising efforts with help from Trustees and the architect J J Baldwin for desks and domestic science facilities.
