A memorial service for Richard Lee Gilbert 73 of Aiken will be held Saturday April 9 2011 at 10am at the Aiken Church of Christ. Interment will be private at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with SC Cremation & Burial Society assisting. Memorials may go to Southeastern Children's Home or Palmetto Bible Camp. Gilbert died April 4 2011 at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. Born in Bloomington Illinois he was a US Air Force captain retired in 1984 and later an educator in multiple districts. He is survived by his wife of 47 years daughter son sisters and four grandchildren.
