Riverbanks Zoo Reports Rare Siamang Birth and Giraffe Calf
The Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia announces a first hand reared siamang infant born after a ten month gestation. The five pound baby, with long limbs, is cared for by the mother and zoo staff as it begins to explore. Riverbanks also welcomed a male reticulated giraffe born October 30 weighing about 100 pounds and over six feet tall after a delayed delivery assisted by veterinarians.
