New Gorham Bronze Plant to Bring 100 Jobs to Aiken
Gorham Bronze a Textron division will move headquarters from Providence to Aiken and build a bronze memorials and urns plant at Verenes Industrial Park. About 70 trainee workers start December 16 with 30 more jobs later. operation slated for spring 1984. Local officials hailed site as result of 18 month search among 22 locations. U S Senator Thurmond and Textron leaders attended the luncheon.
