The Triangle Club of the North Christian Church will meet at Mary Lane's home on September 9 at 7 30 with Verlin McClaine as leader. Visitors are welcome to Sunday School at ten and to other services, especially if you are hot in attendance at other church services.
A local gathering outlines a Remember the Past theme with Hymn Faith of our fathers and Stand up for Scripture reading Psalm 100 by Mrs Mollie Brown. Mrs Anna Gordon hosts and leads with Mrs Letha Waters guiding activities for a Jubilee remembrance.
The Junior Mission meets at the Christian Church on Sept 10 at 7 30 pm. Lessons center on patience with scripture and talks by Hypes Frazier Bowman McDaniel Showalter Blank and others. The program includes songs, prayers, and moving pictures reflecting faith.
Mary J Booher daughter of John and Sarah Armstrong was born in Fairfield County Ohio July 5 1840. Died August 28 1924 at the home of her granddaughter Mrs Edna Bishop near Advance Indiana aged 84 years 1 month and 23 days. Funeral services were held at eleven o clock Sunday morning at the Saint James Lutheran Church with Rev W E Alien.
The undersigned express deep gratitude to all who assisted during the illness and passing of Mary J Booker, their mother and grandmother, signed by Children and Grandchildren.
Miss Artie Lane daughter of Mr and Mrs Joe Lane of near Ladoga and Fred VanHorn son of Mr and Mrs James VanHorn of Thorntown were quietly married Monday at 11 AM by Rev Guy Carpenter of Crawfordsville First Methodist at the church parsonage. They dined with the bride’s parents then left for a two week trip to Niagara Falls and other eastern places. The bride taught in Manila West Virginia last year while the groom works with his father in a Thorntown restaurant. They will reside in Thorntown.
Mr and Mrs Willis Fulwider travel to Cambridge City where she will teach in five township schools starting Monday. Mrs Dema Baldwin and children from Rankin Illinois return home after visiting. Many local families host guests and attend events, with travel to Speedway and Indianapolis for various activities. The Methodist Church decorates interiors while the Produce Company adds chicken coops and an office.
Three people were injured Tuesday afternoon when two vehicles collided at a crossroads one mile north of Colfax Indiana. John Waugh 62 prominent banker of Colfax driven Ford runabout taken to Palmer Community Hospital with two broken ribs and possible internal injuries. Harold Lane 18 of Colfax driver of Ford sedan sprained shoulder. Baer companion slight bruises and lacerations. Hoppus riding with them escaped injuries. Local physician treated youths in Colfax.
Mr and Mrs John Whitecotton George Kersey and Carrie Routh spent Saturday in Indianapolis George Joseph and family of near North Salem spent Sunday here
T. J. Caldwell and family spent Sunday with their son Ross and family at Lizton. Cecil Smith is ill.
Whitestown high school reopens September 8 with enrollment and supplies briefings. The district plans a longer class variety and claims to lead Boone County consolidated schools in subject offerings. The Lane family held a reunion near Thorntown with 56 attendees at noon and a basket dinner.
Johnson and Thompson families held a reunion on Labor Day at Old with a meeting and dinner outdoors despite rain. Attendees included Mrs Sengu tote of 1sboro Ind and various local teachers announced by A Q Duline trustee. New staff listed for Worth township schools include Caplinger as principal and several junior high and grades teachers with Eulalie Smith as music and art. A lost tan suitcase between Jamestown and Thorntown was reported with return requested.
Three survivors of a fatal Crawfordsville road crash west of Lebanon are reported improving at Witham Hospital. William H. Cohen with a broken shoulder and bruising may leave soon. Mrs. Cohen’s condition improves with rest. Harry Conover has returned to Indianapolis. Three children died in the wreck, and triple funeral services are likely. Bodies were taken to Indianapolis. The children had been living with the Cohens since the father's death and the mother’s remarriage. Robert Miller joined the family visit in Indianapolis from Friday to Sunday.

Paramount presents The Covered Wagon at the Colonial Theatre in Lebanon next Monday through Wednesday with a vast cast of 1000 Indians and 2000 white actors, 1000 horses, several hundred mules and 500 covered wagons central to the production at Barker’s site.
A four year old boy, son of Mr and Mrs William Singleton, was struck by an automobile driven by Frank Unger on the Jackson Highway north of Mechanicsburg. A front wheel passed over his leg, he was unconscious at first, revived and treated, then returned home in good condition.
